At IFA in Berlin Harman International announced the JBL OnBeat Venue, a wireless loudspeaker that turns an Apple iPad into a robust entertainment system ideal for any room in the house.
The speaker dock has a set of dual full-range drivers and Slipstream port technology for true bass with low distortion and is loud enough and so powerful that it can easily serve as a home’s primary audio system and works with all Apple mobile devices including the iPad, iPhone and iPod.
The sleek design features a hidden dock connector behind the JBL logo at the base of the OnBeat Venue. For wireless playback, the JBL OnBeat Venue includes Harman’s exclusive TrueStream wireless streaming to deliver the highest-quality sound when connecting with Bluetooth.
In a first for a speaker dock the OnBeat Venue can connect up to 8 devices by Bluetooth whether they are Apple, Android, Windows or BlackBerry phones.
“With so many people using iPads and other portable devices to access music, movies, videos and games, the OnBeat Venue takes the multimedia experience to a new level. We are providing technically sophisticated speakers with high-performance drivers and advanced audio software to deliver satisfying bass for a rich and full sound that people have come to expect from JBL,”
The JBL OnBeat Venue includes a free, downloadable app called MusicFlow that allows users to create customised playlists, edit mixes, adjust volume and EQ settings, as well as browse album artwork.
There is also an auxiliary input jack that allows connectivity to virtually any audio device or a computer, while a component video cable (not included) can connect the OnBeat Venue to a high-definition TV for big-screen views of movies and video games.
The JBL OnBeat Venue will be available this month and has a suggested retail price of €199. I had the fortune to listen to this amazing sounding speaker dock at IFA and I was blown away with how rich, deep and clear the sound was and I hope to review it soon here.
