Tomorrow is the big day where the next iPhone is unveiled and we have a round up of some news related to the iPhone 5.
First off, MacRumors says that “certain portions of Apple’s sales support team are significantly increasing their staffing levels beginning 6am EST on Friday, with a major surge for the initial shift beginning at that time and a sustained level of high staffing for at least the remainder of the day,” which indicates that those iPhone 5 pre-orders will start on Friday morning. Whilst here in UK that time is 1pm if it’s only US pre-orders then it makes sense.
Meanwhile, the new iPod Touch is expected to get a size boost to 4 inches to match the new iPhone and join it with a 1136 x 640 pixel display according to mobile consultant Will Strafach. The iPod Touch won’t be so lucky as far as the processor is concerned as it will get the second-generation iPad chip, mind you that’s not a bad chip to power an iPod.
Lastly, as you no doubt saw above a resourceful Flickr user going by the name “Rouser” has managed to get hold of the iPhone 5 and iPad mini casings and layer them next to the current generation phone and iPad casing for a side by side size comparison. Apple are expected to announce a new smaller iPad later this month at an additional event.
